It is indeed possible. It is simply nobody as proposed a method for it yet, as stated in my above posts.

Definitely superior, but one experienced with the norm of Bukkit, MC, etc wouldn't have the skills necessary to work with GLP with the skills that they had with JLP.

Great to hear that GLP will have less bugs :D

Possible, but I don't think many hosts will want to run a Go script compared to a Java program, as Multicraft was designed around Java.

So from my little understanding this is programmed in Go(the programming language by Google) so it can be more performance tweaked and the Java version of this is being discontinued. I am coming from BungeeCord so sort of new to setting it up, understanding it, and especially now that is programmed in another language besides java.

The language it's written in should be for the most part irrelevant for the user :) It is the same as any native application now.

When we reach around 400 players our lily crashes :C

Is there any error? And how much ram are you running on?

It's okay now, seems to be stable.

This is a bit disappointing that JLilyPad is being deprecated. lilypad has a small user community compared to bungee and making changes such as this may turn other would-be users away. It is just a poor decision IMHO.

Don't forget that GoLilyPad is much faster and can handle more players then JLilyPad ;) And it is much easier to configure.

It has its perks but it also goes against the "norm" of Minecraft. Plus, its sort of a radical, surprise announcement.

I know right, HOW DARE Robert make it simpler, more feature filled, light weight, and easier to configure. HORRIBLE.

Don't know if this would be the exact place to post this, but I am trying to get GoLilyPad working on a Multicraft Panel. I rented a few server from SafeNode for a few days, thanks to @boboman13 , and have got to a little dead end.

Unfortunately this dead end is right at the begging, on how to run the go file itself. I did allot of research on Go, and still haven't came up with any good way to do it. Trying to create a .jar that will run compiled go code might be difficult it's no harder than creating a .jar that runs any other kind of compiled code the fact that it was originally go doesn't matter. Go compiles to native machine code.

So, if anyone has any idea on how to run it, because once again, I have hit a dead end.

I think that the only way to do it would be to have the host run a special script - someone had supplied it in another thread. Does anyone else have ideas on how this would be feasible?

As far as the multicraft thing goes, if you're getting a managed server (like from CubedHost for example). they would have to upload the custom scripts and CHOD the files. So you'd either have to have an awesome host that will do that, or you're dead in the water.

On the other hand, VPS servers are similarly priced with equally as acceptable performance. So as I see it, you could bite the bullet and buy multicraft licenses and/or get comfortable with SSH.

*cough cough* AWESOME HOST RIGHT HERE *cough cough*

Hopefully we can get together a real Multicraft script. I'll start hacking away.

I would even say @sgtcaze , that VPS are cheaper in the long run, and usually better servers. Therefor, I do agree with you on that. However, the people I have talked to and help out that use multi craft; its very hard to pull them away from it.

@boboman13 , really hope you haven't started, I already made one, and am practically done with the tutorial, just need to test it out, and was hoping you could put the script in.

Sure. Maybe you could PM me the script or something?

Any update on the Multicraft situation?

Me and @boboman13 man have been working on it for awhile now. I believe we are on different time zones, so we rarely get the chance to talk. But, I believe I can get a tutorial out tonight or tomorrow.
